T.ba

An aesthetic feeling, inspired by heritage, life, and soul.

“T.ba is an aesthetic feeling, inspired by my heritage, my life, my soul. It’s been built up step by step, trying to keep in every piece both the spirit of the past and the future — to become timeless.”
— Mercedes Lopez de Carrizosa, Creative Director & Founder

T.ba was born as a cosmopolitan concept of countryside clothing — a brand that seeks something unique, different, timeless, and innovative, beyond following market trends. Founded by Mercedes Lopez de Carrizosa, T.ba achieves these values through subtle details, elegant patterns, and a femininity and romanticism that burst through every collection. Drawing inspiration from details and other eras, Mercedes transforms them into something entirely current.

T.ba is a family-owned firm, deeply rooted in the cultural heritage of its founders — a family whose history in Jerez de la Frontera, in the south of Spain, stretches back to the thirteenth century. Their estate, “El Salto al Cielo” (Jump to Heaven), played a significant role in the development of the majestic Cartujano horse breed. The arrival of British wine producers in Jerez during the nineteenth century brought with them their traditions, fashion, and way of life — a fusion that created a unique, cosmopolitan social scene that T.ba carries forward today.

The elegance of the equestrian world at the turn of the twentieth century — horse races, polo matches, the first Polo Club registered in Europe (Jerez, 1870) — gave rise to an intense social life and a fashion culture that traveled between Jerez, Deauville, and Windsor. T.ba has embraced the essence of that era: sophisticated fabrics, exclusive tweed patterns, blends of yarns in hundreds of colors, unique buttons reminiscent of precious jewels, colorful linings, old laces, and exquisite trimmings. Continuous research in vintage tailoring and pattern craftsmanship from an era when each piece was meticulously made by skilled artisans.
