LILLY PILLY is an Australian sustainable fashion brand founded in Byron Bay in 2021 by Wendy L. Dunne — born from a desire to create garments that are as kind to the planet as they are beautiful to wear. Every piece is made with thoughtful consideration: from fit and stitching details to button materials, adjustable features, and packaging. The result is a collection of timeless, responsibly made pieces built to be worn for years, not seasons.

Sustainability & Materials

LILLY PILLY produces its own linen fabric using EUROPEAN FLAX™ certified linen flax — grown with significantly less water and pesticides than cotton or polyester, fully biodegradable and compostable, and traceable from field to finished garment. Beyond linen, the brand works with bluesign® certified silk (20MM premium, dyed with safe chemicals using less water and energy), lightweight cotton, extra-fine merino wool, and luxurious cashmere.

Ethical Production

LILLY PILLY partners with a certified manufacturer in Jiaxing, China, who shares the brand’s commitment to fair wages, safe and inclusive workplaces, skill development, and continuous innovation in sustainable production. Every step of the supply chain is held to the highest global sustainability standards.

The Story

In 2020, Wendy and her husband left Sydney for Byron Bay, seeking a life closer to nature. After years working with some of Australia’s most iconic fashion brands, she felt a deep desire to create something that truly inspired her. LILLY PILLY launched in September 2021 — built through countless trials, long nights, and the support of a small circle of talented friends — and has grown into a confident brand delivering gorgeous collections season after season, making a positive impact on people and planet.
